Welcome to the world of Maxfield Parrish by Alma Gilbert.

Historic Parrish home “The Oaks” for sale

The legendary and historic property that American artist Maxfield Parrish built starting in 1898 and where he received his inspiration for a number of his landscapes, is for sale. The main house was rebuilt in 1979 and offers the same spectacular 120 degree view of the Connecticut River valley, of distant meadows, and of the famous Mt. Ascutney in nearby Vermont which Parrish himself enjoyed for 68 years.

Please visit the eBay listings, under the category “Real Estate, Residential” to find detailed descriptions of this house, plus exterior and interior pictures.

This is the cover of Alma Gilbert’s new book, “MAXFIELD PARRISH: THE SECRET LETTERS” which has just been released for publication as of April 2013.

This fascinating story is based on the discovery of a cache of 323 previously unknown hand-written love letters by Maxfield Parish to a young lady, who has never before been mentioned in the archives of the artist’s papers.
